The following professional can be admitted as the member of the Bar Association:
Advocate, enrolled with the Bar Council.
A member of the Institute of the Company Secretaries of India.
A member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India.
A member of the Institute of the Cost Accountants of India.
The Admission fees shall be Rs.2500/- and there shall be a Subscription fees of Rs.1000/- to be paid annually.
Any of the above professional desirous of enrolling with the membership of the Bar Association shall fulfil the eligibility criteria for membership as below:
No insolvency proceedings are pending against him or has not been adjudged insolvent;
No investigation or charge-sheet is pending for any offence involving moral turpitude;
He has not been convicted for a Criminal Contempt by any Court;
He had not been found guilty for any Professional Misconduct by a Disciplinary Committee of his respective Professional Regulator Institution;
His Certificate of Practice or Licence to Practice has not been suspended by his respective Professional Regulation Institution.
He is not in arrears of any amount as prescribed in the Rules and/or Resolution of the Executive Committee.
No other proceeding is pending which in the opinion of Executive Committee is detrimental to the interest of the Association and/or professional fraternity.
Procedure for admission as member
The Executive Committee shall, either itself, or through a Sub-Committee authorized by it in this behalf, consider the Application for Membership and admit the applicant as a Member.
Upon such admission, the Executive Committee shall determine the status of the Associate Members for the purposes of entering into the register of members as to the effect of their residence i.e. a Resident Member or an Outstation Member.
